Privacy Policy
For Reckon (iOS). Last updated 6 August 2026.
This policy is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version
The app collects nothing. Nothing leaves your phone. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no server. The app has no network code in it at all.
What the app does
Reckon is a calculator with a set of tools for performers. One of those tools uses the camera to recognise a playing card placed in front of it, and can then save a picture you chose in advance into your photo library.
Camera
- The camera is off unless you deliberately turn it on, and stops when you are done.
- Camera frames are processed entirely on your device, in memory, as they arrive.
- Frames are not saved, not recorded, and never transmitted. Nothing derived from a frame is stored beyond the moment it is examined.
- The microphone is not used, and the app does not request access to it.
Photos
The app asks for add-only access to your photo library. This is the narrowest level iOS offers: it lets the app place a picture into your library and does not let the app read, browse or see anything already there.
Separately, if you choose to replace one of the app's built-in pictures with your own, iOS shows you its own picture picker and hands the app only the specific image you select. The app copies that image into its own storage so it keeps working if you later delete the original. Those copies stay on your device.
Photo dates
The app can save its picture with a creation date and time that you choose in the settings, rather than the moment of saving. This affects only pictures the app itself adds to your library, only when you turn the feature on, and only using values you enter yourself. The app never alters any picture that is already in your library.
Data stored on your device
- your settings
- any pictures you chose as replacements
All of it lives in the app's own storage and is removed when you delete the app. None of it is transmitted anywhere.
Data shared with others
None. There are no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, attribution or crash reporting in the app.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
